About The Shadow Brewers

While I am a Shadow Brewer, I am not alone.

On a sunny day in April (strange for Seattle, I know), three friends – Brian (me), Matt and Jared – attended a class on the art of homebrewing. The following Sunday (also a nice day now that I think about it… weird), we fired up the propane burner, soaked some grains, and dumped in some hops, malt and yeast, then did it all over again. Two weeks, and one bad (and altogether inappropriate) brewery name later, we have emerged as the Shadow Brewers: an homage to our shady nature (not actually true, two of us are Eagle Scouts) and Jared and my obsession with one crappy novel about a violent, revenge-driven Sasquatch.

As Sas-fans and beer lovers, and with a few other friends (and our patient significant others) in the rotation, we will be occupying the garage in a effort to bring brewing back to the shadows…

Not really the shadows; we need to be able to see what we’re doing, but you know what I mean.

  1. I love the story behind your brewing! And your list of brews is impressive — I especially love that y’all named on ‘Chupahopra.’ It’s a shame we live on opposite sides of the country because I feel like you and my boyfriend would get along splendidly haha. Cheers!

  2. Awesome! My husband is getting into home brewing (totally by accident. He ordered a kit online not realizing is was the grains!) AND is an eagle scout. I’ll be watching you, and keeping an eye out for sasquatch too.
