While I am a Shadow Brewer, I am not alone.
On a sunny day in April (strange for Seattle, I know), three friends – Brian (me), Matt and Jared – attended a class on the art of homebrewing. The following Sunday (also a nice day now that I think about it… weird), we fired up the propane burner, soaked some grains, and dumped in some hops, malt and yeast, then did it all over again. Two weeks, and one bad (and altogether inappropriate) brewery name later, we have emerged as the Shadow Brewers: an homage to our shady nature (not actually true, two of us are Eagle Scouts) and Jared and my obsession with one crappy novel about a violent, revenge-driven Sasquatch.
As Sas-fans and beer lovers, and with a few other friends (and our patient significant others) in the rotation, we will be occupying the garage in a effort to bring brewing back to the shadows…
Not really the shadows; we need to be able to see what we’re doing, but you know what I mean.
